It seems there’s no stopping October when it comes to news about hot new gear.
Future Retro is now teasing us with a picture of their forthcoming FR-512 on their Facebook page. It’s very reminiscent of an old Electro-Harmonix Mini Synth (or maybe more like a Buchla Music Easel), with its touch plate keyboard, as it isn’t a common site these days. The picture reveals a few of the FR-512’s features, which seems to include CV connections, MIDI connectivity, arpeggiator, sequencer, +/- 1 to 4 octave switching as well as pitch bend and modulation. There seems to be no USB, so if you’re thinking of using this with a Mac (or PC), you may need a separate MIDI interface for your computer.
There’s no further details at the moment (the product isn’t even listed on Future Retro’s official website), but you can be sure we’ll bring you more news as we have it. As far as we know, it will be officially shown at next years 2016 Winter NAMM show January.
