AUGSPURGER, a leader in large main monitoring systems for audio and music production, debuts the Treo 812 CFM Close Field Main Monitoring System, to be shown at the 143rd AES Convention in New York City October 18-20, 2017.
Building on an already formidable product range, this new 3-way design features mirror-imaged horizontal cabinets housing an 8” ferrite low/mid driver, a 4” 99.98% pure beryllium HF compression driver on Augspurger’s rock maple MF “MidFocus” horn, and a 12” integrated subwoofer mounted on a ported 1.5” thick MDF front baffle.
The compact and powerful and Augspurger Treo 812CFM monitor is suitable for nearly any audio application where extreme dynamics and detailed accuracy are desired. Sporting in-room frequency response of 24 Hz – 20 kHz and output of 124 dB SPL, the 2500 watt system delivers a gamechanging standard in powerful, full-range monitoring suitable for smaller work spaces.
The cabinet dimensions are 28” x 20.675” x 17.5” (WxHxD) with a rear-mounted 1250 watt 3-way Class D amplifier, featuring powerful DSP to provide individual system tuning for every room. Standard cabinet finishes are matte black and matte silver, with optional high-gloss finishes available in any color. Starting price of the Treo system will be $17,500, and will be available to order as of October 16, 2017.
“With the subwoofer in the same cabinet, the system’s space-efficiency and practicality is unquestioned,” said Augspurger product manager Bruce Bartone, “Although we expect larger rooms will also find the Treo a very attractive close-field solution, as well.”
Augspurger president Dave Malekpour summed it up, “The development of Treo 812CFM opens up a new era of monitoring for people who work in more confined spaces, but still need the power and purity of Augspurger. Treo won’t need to be used in conjunction with small near fields or external subs; you’ll be able to record, mix and master on one perfect monitor, at any volume.” Each Augspurger Treo 812CFM system, along with all Augspurger monitors, are expertly hand crafted and tested in Hanover, MA USA.
